It’s been an amazing week at the building – a beehive of activity!

By the end of the day on Monday, most of the steel columns for the 2nd floor had been put in place. They used a bobcat and a dolly to move the 15′ long columns to the right spot, with 1 guy guiding it through the forest of upright columns.

Tuesday morning I came around the corner onto Broadway and looked down the street – there was a huge crane at the building! It was moving the massive beams from the truck into the building – these will be the structure of the 2nd floor.

And before you know it, they’re installing those beams and you can get a sense of what this is actually going to look like.

On Wednesday there were more deliveries – the metal decking that will support the 2nd floor concrete and also concrete blocks for the elevator enclosure.

Today there are about a dozen workers on site – finishing the demolition of the proscenium area at the rear of the building, building the elevator enclosure, and erecting the steel structure. Oh, and we have stairs to be put in place!
