A milestone day for our new home!

The concrete team arrived at 6:30 am to lay down the poly and steel mesh on top of the compacted dirt. By 10:30 am the concrete truck and pump had arrived and they began pouring the subfloor for the next 5 hours – 2.5 inches of concrete for the first floor slab; thicker and with rebar embedded for the kiln room floor. When we stopped by later in the afternoon the concrete was smooth and drying – will be all set up in time for the steel delivery on Monday.
